Statement of Faith
ONE GOD:
We believe that there is one true God who exists in three persons — God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:18-19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Hebrews 1:1-4)
JESUS IS GOD:
We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate (in the flesh) who came to all the world to offer the only solution to sin — a holy sacrifice. (Philippians 2:5-8, Luke 2:40, John 1:1-5, Hebrews 4:15)
HOLY SPIRIT:
We believe that the Holy Spirit permanently lives in every believer providing assurance, strength, and wisdom. He also uniquely gives each believer gifts for the building up of the Body of Christ, which are stills evident today. (John 16:7-11, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Ephesians 4:30)
THE BIBLE:
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. (Psalm 12:6, 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 1:13; 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Romans 15:4)
SALVATION:
We believe that salvation (the forgiveness of sins) is not linked to church attendance, works, good deeds, heritage, or genealogy, but rather a free gift given by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ. We believe salvation is evidenced by repentance, confession, baptism by immersion, and a life obedient to Christ as Lord AND Savior. (John 1:12, 3:16, 14:6, Romans 5:1; 6:23, Galatians 3:26, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, Romans 3:23-25, 10:9-13, Acts 2:38-40, 2 Samuel 12:23; Matthew 18:2-3; 19:13-15)
RELATIONSHIP:
We believe becoming a Christian begins with starting a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. (John 3:1-15, John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 5:17-20)
FORGIVENESS:
We believe the only remedy for sin is a renewed life based on faith in Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:6-9, Galatians 3:13-14)
BAPTISM:
We believe that those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior should be baptized by immersion as it was modeled and commanded by Christ. We believe a baby, or a young child cannot comprehend and/or understand sin or their need for Christ and are under God’s grace until an age of accountability determined only by God. (Matthew 28:19; Luke 22:14-23, Acts 2:37-38, 8:35-39, Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; I Corinthians 11:23-26, 12:13)
COMMUNION:
We believe partaking of communion was both modeled and commanded by Christ. We believe communion is a memorial, a proclamation, and representative of the new covenant in Christ Jesus as defined by Scripture, and should be done in a correct/worthy manner as outlined in scripture. Communion is not as an act of salvation but rather an ordinance and evidence there of. (Matthew 26:26-28, Acts 2:42-47, 1 Corinthians 11:23-30, 10:16, 1 Peter 2:24, Ephesians 1:7, 1 John 1:9, Matthew 5:23-24, Romans 12:1)
MISSION WORK:
We believe mission work is vital because Jesus commanded us to make disciples of ALL nations and He is returning to judge the world very soon. God wishes that none would perish, but that all would have eternal life with Him, so He made a way for us, and salvation is available through His gospel now. (Mt 28:19-20, Jn 3:16-18, Rm 2:4-8, 1 Pet 3:9; Rev. 20:11-15)
